How to get involved in your Chicago Chapter

Committee memberships are open to all members of the Chicago Chapter. Please feel free to contact any of the committee representatives for more information. View all Committee members.

Board of Directors

Responsible for the overall health of the chapter. Sets policy, reviews results, determines future goals, settles over issues with the chapter and national organization. Members are elected to the Board every year in March. The Boards meets 4 times a year, meetings last 3 hours. Membership Committee

Responsible for retaining and developing new members. This committee reviews membership and develops plans to increase and retain membership. This committee meets as needed. Contact Ryan Hiss, rhiss@lymannielson.com  for more information.

Program Committee

Responsible for chapter programs, this committee convenes in the summer and fall to develop the programming for the next program year. Chris Budris, cbudris@kennyconstruction.com and Shawn Erickson, shawn.erickson@cjerickson.com are the contacts for this committee.

Accounting Internship Committee

The Accounting Internship Committee builds student awareness of careers in our profession through summer jobs and links with area universities. The premier activity is CFMA's Accounting Intern Program which enables students to gain relevant industry experience by providing subsidies and guidance to construction employers. The contact person is  Jason Vanden Bosch, or Gordon Marshall.

Golf Committee

Responsible for organizing and administering the annual Chapter Golf Outing.  Proceeds benefit the Accounting Internship Program.  The contact person is Bill Reidinger, breidinger@alliedna.com

CFMA Chapter Awards Committee

This is a new committee. The awards program was started recently, with the first Awards Luncheon to be held on May 7, 2009. The committee is meeting as needed. The contact person is Kathy Cole, kcole@dkcole.com .

Education Committee

Responsible for organizing 2 educational seminars per year.  This committee works with CFMA education programs to do so.  This committee convenes via phone and e-mail.  The contact person is Jon Zeiler, jon.zeiler@crowehorwath.com . 

Finance Committee

Responsible for monthly finance activity, including recording income and expenses, bank reconciliation, monthly financial reporting and yearly tax reporting.  The contact person is Jeff Tyner, Jeff.Tyner@cliftoncpa.com.

Social Committee

Responsible for organizing 2 or 3 social events per year, ie. Cubs event, bowling, etc.  This committee convenes via phone and e-mail.  The contact person is Jen Haub, jen.haub@rbic.com
